Your organisation’s annual report is an anticipated event and an opportunity to connect with shareholders, industry and staff. Another Colour is a design studio that can help you go beyond regulatory obligations, with original and impactful design, so you can capitalise on your reporting investment.
Annual reports delivering beyond the bottom line
Well-designed financials pages build trust with your audience by demonstrating transparency. But along with the necessary compliance reporting, an annual report can cover much more than profit margins. Celebrate successes and company culture. Announce new appointments. Demonstrate corporate values with authentic stories well suited to a longform format.
Your annual report project is an exciting opportunity for us to show you what we do best — bringing words to life with compelling visual storytelling, meaningful infographics and our collaborative approach. With over 20 years’ experience working on corporate reports, Another Colour’s portfolio is dominated with high-quality, long-form communications for an array of sectors, including government, finance and technology.

Reporting case studies
Small Business NSW
Branding the NSW Small Business Commissioner required updating the visual look and structure of their Annual Report. Our brand system included sub-identities for their business units that worked harmoniously in this reporting template.
Australian Payments Network
We were re-appointed to design and art direct the 2017 Annual Review for the Australian Payments Network, following the success of our design for the 2016 Annual Review, which had a record number of downloads. We art directed a photo shoot of the board and created custom infographics highlighting key payment trends.
Our brief for AMPC’s Annual Report 2019–20 was to avoid obvious depictions of the meat industry and align more closely with the organisation’s strategic vision: driving world-class research projects in sustainability and innovation. The bold new creative direction we created for them revitalised reporting for their members.
Innovation and Productivity Council
For the Innovation Economy Research Series, we created a visual identity that reflects the council’s future-facing and thought-provoking work. The interactive digital reports were themed with data visualisations and infographics, and were shared with ministers, research leaders and the media.
Our approach to annual reports
A meeting to kick off the project will commence our research phase. By learning about your audience, competitors and existing brand, we will work with you to develop a thorough creative brief. A project of this size requires rigorous project management and clear communication. We understand the importance of regulatory deadlines and have established systems to manage quality assurance, budgets and approval processes. Feedback will be attained in phases, to ensure key stakeholders are informed and invested in the report’s progress. We pride ourselves on accuracy: all work is quality-checked and amendments guaranteed.
Another Colour’s ability to listen and make informed decisions on creative direction is a joy and not something I have found very often in working with design teams. They have a superior style of engagement with clients and work hard to understand and anticipate their needs.
Adding value to your design project
Research shows people follow directions 323% better if the directions include both text and illustrations. Data visualisations, meaningful infographics and original illustrations can transform complex data into engaging new formats, perfect for sharing via your other communication channels. We have trusted print partnerships who allow us to experiment with printing techniques. Whether its digital or offset printing, we can ensure materials are sustainable and manage FSC-approved print processes for you.
Our reports have received positive feedback from many key stakeholders, demonstrating the visual value Another Colour provides. I have recommended them to others and we look forward to continuing working with them.
Let us be your guide in the digital age
Expanding reach using digital platforms becomes a vital part of today’s annual reports. Adding interactivity to your digital report will enhance the user experience. We will add interactive links to PDFs, or can even develop a full responsive website, complete with animated infographics and video explainers. We are experts in accessibility and can ensure your commitment to be WCAG 2.0 compliant.
Check out our portfolio, or contact us to discuss your reporting project. We’ll happily prepare a comprehensive cost estimate and present some relevant case studies that showcase how the design thinking we apply to flagship reports has brought meaningful change for our clients. We look forward to hearing from you.
