Lifeline

An annual report illustrating Lifeline’s most challenging year

As Australians survived a global pandemic, Lifeline experienced a record-breaking year with more than 1,100,000 crisis calls.

Helping more Australians in more ways than ever before

Evolving their modes of support from an altruistic helpline to a national multi-channel service, Lifeline have successfully met the growing need for their crisis support. In recognition of this achievement, the 2022 Annual Report cover depicts three help-seekers from different walks of life, all connecting to Lifeline through different channels of support — call, chat and text.

A new illustrative approach for 2022

Shadow and light was the guiding theme, a metaphor for the hope and connection Lifeline offers Australians in their darkest times. The distinctive new illustration style incorporated hand-drawn textures to capture human emotion. This technique allowed us to celebrate success stories and commemorate those lost during a difficult year.

A new service for First Nation Australians

2022 saw the launch of 13YARN, the first national crisis support line for mob, is designed, led and delivered by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. These pages were taken out of the Lifeline colour palette to resonate with the audience of this new confidential 24/7 service.

Messages of hope and achievement in the 2021 Annual Report

The cover of Another Colour’s first Annual Report for Lifeline, depicted a help-seeking youth, communicating via text message with a support worker portrayed in sunny yellow. For young people, text and chat are preferred channels, and we wanted to highlight Lifeline’s modernised service.

Our illustrations and infographics accompany stories of fundraising success. Media partnerships and community outreach programs were punctuated with the number of lives impacted.

Reaching further on social media

Working closely with the Communications Team, Another Colour have created social media assets. The video and carousel assets acknowledge accomplishments and contact volumes, to further extend the reach of the Annual Reports.

Our experience with Another Colour has been nothing short of exceptional. Their outstanding work, unparalleled skill in navigating complex content, and creative genius have not only elevated our brand but also proven invaluable in addressing the unique challenges posed by Lifeline.
