Holding Hope — an annual report

For over 60 years, Lifeline has been a beacon of hope, providing 24-hour suicide prevention support to Australians. In 2023, they answered 1.1 million phone calls, proving their essential role in the community.

Helping more Australians in more ways than ever before

Lifeline offers continuous crisis support and online resources to Australians in need. The organisation’s mission is to ensure that no individual in Australia faces their most challenging moments alone.

We crafted a distinctive visual approach for their 60th anniversary, marking our third annual report collaboration. This design aesthetic became integral to the brand’s visual identity and was used to brand many communications throughout the year.

A human touch

By combining portraiture with hand-drawn embellishments, we captured raw emotions and enhanced narratives of resilience and hope. These doodle elements echoed the report’s theme of human connection, bringing joy to every page turn.

Reaching even further on social media

We adapted the creative approach for Meta and LinkedIn organic posts and empowered the Lifeline team with customisable templates. This ensured they could maintain brand consistency while expanding their reach.

The power of infographics

Using infographics, we revealed vital achievements and performance metrics, refreshing the storytelling from previous reports we collaborated on. We animated the infographics to increase engagement in credentials presentations, making the data more compelling and accessible.

The year ahead

Looking ahead, the visual style we developed will continue to offer hope. The Lifeline calendar celebrates important events and commemorative milestones, while a fully customisable e-newsletter and animated PowerPoint templates ensure staff can integrate the expressive brand elements into every communication.
