Aim

Bard Peripheral Vascular (BPV) supplies state-of-the-art medical equipment to surgeons that specialise in veins and arteries. A hardwearing custom-built binder and suite of stationery was developed to launch the new division.

Method

The stationery featured macro photography of skeletal leaves. These became a visual metaphor for the intricate and delicate nature of human veins. A tessellated pattern on the covers was inspired by images found in biomapping and medical device designs.

Results

The printed folder transitioned from shiny, hard exterior to a softer, velvety uncoated paper on the inside. This contrast reflected the meeting of technology and biology.
