What colour should you wear if you want to win an Oscar?

It’s probably safe to say that for most of us the only reason we tune in to the Oscars is for the red carpet spectacle. It's an endless procession of actresses, draped in either the finest couture or fashion’s most infamous failures. Part runway, part performance and ever-so-slightly ridiculous, it is a guilty indulgence that is best enjoyed with pizza and friends and we never miss it. After many years of avid viewing we decided to turn this obsession into a quantifiable (or informative) pictogram, hoping to learn the science behind these famous frocks.
