Wild Researchers – a collaboration between UNSW and award-winning photographer Tamara Dean

When it comes to ‘Research’ we often think of Bunsen burners, libraries and the distinctive smell of sterilising liquid. However our recent project for the Australian Museum and UNSW called Wild Researchers breaks this mould.

Photographer Tamara Dean has managed to capture a softer side of an inspiring group of researchers in off-campus environments. From a broad range of fields, these researchers collect data, conduct fieldwork and contribute to environmental issues that often don’t get the attention they need. The emotive nature of Dean’s photographs means we get to see these people in an unexpected light, in outdoor environments, doing what they love.

Another Colour was asked to showcase these images into an exhibition catalogue, as well as design an accompanying electronic invitation and promotional poster for the event.
