Tyger tyger, burning bright. In the forests of the night. William Blake
Another Colour is a proud supporter of Taronga Zoo and their ongoing contribution to some of the world’s most endangered animals. Each year, we relish the opportunity to play a small part in that work by designing invitations and collateral for the annual Zoofari charity event.
For Zoofari 2014, the money raised from the event was dedicated towards the conservation and protection of the Sumatran Tiger, which included sustaining Taronga’s own breeding program for the endangered species.
Inspiration for the invite came from the tiger itself – specifically, the cultural impact that the species has had on humans throughout time. Images from classic European, Chinese and Korean art were sourced and juxtaposed with modern photography to highlight the history of the tiger’s significance.
To emphasise the tiger’s sense of nobility, purple and metallic gold was used for fonts and to frame the images fonts, and multiple logos of a tiger rampant reflecting different cultures was stamped in gold throughout the collateral. Collectable postcards of full renditions of select artworks were included in the invitation
Completing the mail out set, we designed a gold envelope, booking form plus compliments slip. An extensive event program was placed on each table for the fundraising dinner.
Money raised from this event has gone towards contributing to the building of new facilities and the breeding program for the tigers. Taronga has described the facilities as an ‘immersive, emotive and inspirational journey’ and visitors are expected to retain critical messages about tiger conservation in the hope that they will continue to support the fight for their survival.
